📝 What is Women of Good Fortune about?:

In Shanghai, Lulu faces a dilemma: marry for money or follow her heart. With the help of her two best friends, Rina and Jane, they hatch a plan to secure their financial freedom by stealing cash gifts from Lulu’s lavish wedding. But as their scheme unfolds, they must confront the consequences of their choices and the true cost of their desires.

📚 Genre: Crime Fiction
🎧 Format: Audiobook
💞 Feels: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This story was fun. There was romance, a heist, strained family dynamics, friendship and humor. I docked it one star, because I didn’t find it so engrossing that I couldn’t put it down or stop thinking about it. But I was very entertained whenever I came back to it. I did find myself yelling at some of the characters, when they were underestimating each other. Listening to the story was great – I highly recommend this book in audio form. Laughing at the story as I was on a walk was a great addition to going outside.

The friendship between the three women felt very realistic, sort of a happy accident friendship. Don’t really know how it started, but you’re all in it now and you balance each other out. There’s the people pleaser, the overachiever and the rebel. Through the book and their wedding heist they discover things about themselves and each other. And see each other more clearly, since over time they’re taking each other for granted. Making assumptions about each other, not allowing their friends to grow and change. This heist of theirs, definitely opens their eyes to who they’ve aligned themselves with, for the better. So glad I recommended this one for Galentine’s Day ❤️‍🔥
