📝 What is Waiting for the Flood about?:

A poignant tale of love, loss, and second chances in this emotional journey from acclaimed author, Alexis Hall. Edwin Tully, nursing a broken heart in the remnants of his past, finds unexpected solace and possibility in the arrival of Adam Dacre, sparking a tender romance amidst the flood of life’s uncertainties.

📚 Genre: Romance
🎧 Format: E-Book
💞 Feels: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This story was really sweet. Was glad to see the love interest introduced immediately. Loving their vibes – and what seems to be love at first sight? Their story seemed low stakes, slow burn but with the time constraints that a natural disaster would bring. Since Adam will only be around for a finite amount of time, Edwin does need to get out of his own way and take a risk. I was very proud of him and so happy to see him reflecting less and less on his break up with his ex (Marius) and focusing more and more on what the future could be. Their tale was over before I was ready – but I wasn’t through the ebook, so what was going on?! A novella from the perspective of Edwin’s ex? A very pleasant surprise I had no idea I needed.

✅ Spinoff novella nomination:

Marius and Leo – give me more of them. When their novella, Chasing the Light, started I didn’t know what was happening, why we were moving away from Edwin and Adam 🥲. Marius sucks! Or, so I thought…there was no way I was going to like him, but once I saw him interacting with Leo he got better. He started to reveal some misconceptions that Edwin had about him.

Marius and Leo stole the show from Edwin and Adam, I must say. And Leo just had me wrapped around his man bun like a tightly coiled scrunchie lol – Marius had better stop messing with that sweet angel. When Leo cries, I cry. Great read for a cozy wintry day. The stories were perfect companion pieces.
