My favorite re-read is East of Eden by John Steinbeck. I could and have read it over and over again. I often read the book in spring and always discover something new about the story. And end up identifying with different characters as I grow older. Since I’ve read the book so many times I look for foreshadowing and repetition in different characters flaws.
A multi-generational, family saga, that changes and shifts over time. Family dynamics change and repeat, in new generations. The story of Cain and Abel, is the archetype. There’s always a lesson to glean from a re-read of East of Eden. Truly a classic.
