📝 What is Tress of the Emerald Sea about?:

Tress’s idyllic island life is shattered when her friend Charlie’s quest for a bride ends in disaster. Charlie’s disappearance prompts her to embark on a perilous journey to find the Sorceress of the Midnight Sea. Stowing away on a ship, she navigates treacherous waters filled with pirates, determined to carve her own path in a world where danger lurks at every turn.

📚 Genre: Fantasy
🎧 Format: Hardcover
💞 Feels: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I can’t wait to re-read this book. This story is a re-telling of Princess Bride – but from the female lead’s POV. She sets off to save her friend and somehow becomes a pirate in the process.

I had such a good time once the adventure began. The world-building was needed but I was just waiting for the trials and tribulations to start. Once they did I was very satisfied. Loved the mystery of the seas, the characters and their motivations…who can Tress trust? And just seeing how inventive Tress would become. Great tale of growth and found family.

✅ Spinoff novella nomination:

This is a first! I want to novellas for all of the side characters. This being my first Brandon Sanderson novel, and a standalone, there probably are tales about some of these characters already! I’ve heard he’s quite prolific. I’ve seen questions like “Who is Hoid in Tress of the Emerald Sea?”. I’m looking forward to searching for Hoid in another Sanderson book.
