📝 What is the neighbor favor about?:
Shy and awkward Lily Greene dreams of becoming a children’s books editor but remains stuck in the nonfiction division, finding solace in her email correspondence with her favorite fantasy author until he ghosts her. Determined to move on, she seeks the help of her charming new neighbor, Nick Brown, to find a date for her sister’s wedding, unaware that Nick is actually the author she fell for online. Nick, realizing Lily’s true identity, tries to keep things simple by setting her up with someone else, but can’t stop thinking about her.

I liked reading a romance about two book lovers. I’ll always love a book about books. The You’ve Got Mail spin of their courtship was sweet. Strangers turned pen pals turned lovers.
I enjoyed getting to know Lily and Nick. Now I’ve already seen a bit of them from The Partner Plot, so I knew they’d figure out their issues – because I read the books in this series out of order. But I still liked seeing how they got together.
After I read The Partner Plot, I was worried that I would get more of Dahlia (Iris, Violet and Lily’s mother). She was very overbearing in The Partner Plot. But she didn’t really come off as obnoxious in The Neighbor Favor, which I appreciated. I think she came off as less annoying because she was in the book less than she was in Violet’s story. We only get one scene where Dahlia verbalizes her opinions relating to Lily’s life choices. By that point Lily is able to tell her mother how her opinion makes her feel. In The Partner Plot, that interaction between Dahlia and Lily is described as being much more revolutionary. I was anxiously waiting for it to happen, and it was really over before it began.
Hopefully, in Iris’ book Dahlia has learned her lesson. After being told off by 2 daughters – she will fully support whatever Iris chooses, as she should. Ooh I can’t wait for Iris and Angel!
You’ll like this book, if…
You’ll like this book, if you’re a fan of romance series’. Series’ where characters are connected through friendship or family, so that they can re-appear in the new books.
This romance series is about three sisters finding love through a variety of tropes…so far, Strangers-to-lovers (The Neighbor Favor) and Second chance love (The Partner Plot). I’m guessing Iris and Angel will be a May-December or Love after Loss trope; probably a combination of both since both scenarios are accurate for them.
✅ Spinoff novella nomination:
Now that I’ve seen Angel meet Iris in The Neighbor Favor and dance with her in The Partner Plot…I’m not concerned with any other characters getting a story. Iris and Angel 2025, yay!
