📝 What is Legends & Lattes about?:
After a life filled with battles and bounties, Viv decides to retire and pursue a new dream: opening Thune’s first coffee shop. However, facing both old enemies and unfamiliar challenges, she realizes she can’t do it alone. Along her journey, she discovers that the true treasures lie in the connections forged with unexpected companions, whether through magic, pastry, or the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.

A slow paced, low stakes read, and yet I enjoyed the slice of life tale. Can’t say there weren’t any stakes, but there had to be something so I wasn’t completely lulled and wanted to finish the book to see how things would be settled.
Enjoyed getting to know Viv and gang, finding out about her character and the friends she left behind along with the new friends she was making. Seeing her go against “type” and pivot in a way that no one else would have guessed, was fun to be a part of. Can you really empathize with a battle-worn orc who’s better at killing and intimidating people than offering a welcoming customer service experience? Why, yes, I can. No life long learner will be able to resist getting a birds eye view of Viv’s story. I need that good luck charm…or do we think it was just a great group effort?
✅ Spinoff novella nomination:
Okay so this is a bit of a cheat because I’ve started reading Bookshops & Bonedust – but I want Gallina to get her own tale.

[…] 💞 Feels: That epilogue was so sweet. Sort of made up for the rushed ending. I had to re-read what happened in the last few chapters because I lost track of how the “problem” was resolved. Now I think because of the inclusion of the epilogue, I can definitively answer that the reading order of these books should be Bookshops & Bonedusts after Legends & Lattes. […]
